East Central Indiana | I'm in the market for a new utv. Have norrowed it down to these 2. We have 3 kids it would have to be either the crew ranger or 4 seater pioneer. We are leaning towards the pioneer. Biggest downfall of it is the 40 mph top speed. Really like the seats in the bed over the long length of the crew ranger. 99% of the time passengers in the back will be kids. I like not having a drive belt in the pioneer. And likes the interior better. I do have a Polaris dealer right here in town which is nice but Honda dealer is only 30 min away. Has anyone had both? |

SW SD | Neighbor went Polaris after a big red. Only had the Polaris for 2 months before he went back to Honda. Reliability |

Saronville NE | Got a new 570 in may, dusted the motor at 500 miles, its been 3 months today and its still in shop waiting to be put together. Back ordered parts, so don't tell me they don't have problems. They have 3 more in shop presently for same problem. As soon as I get it back its instantly getting traded. Been a lemon from day 1, can't afford to own it outa warranty. I'm done with Polaris. |

Snipesville, GA | I'll agree with Polaris going down on reliability. Years ago the Polaris Ranger was in a class of its own. Now they are a mechanics friend. Local guy in town has had Polaris dealership for years and now he is pushing Yamaha to the customer. |

WC Ohio | I have no experience with Polaris, but I currently have the 700-4 Pioneer and really like it. I have 3 young kids and they really enjoy the Pioneer. The seats in the back are great, and when you need a bed they quickly and easily fold down. My brother has the new 1000-5 Pioneer, which is basically exactly the same as the 700-4, but it has a top speed of about 70! They are very fast! You also have a very good Honda dealer at Prenger Imp. I know they sell a lot of Hondas. |

East Central Indiana | That's actually the dealer close by I was talking about. I spoke to them this morning. What kind of speed are you getting out of your 700. I don't need 70 mph but was hoping for 45-50. It will mostly be used for running back and forth to livestock building, deer hunting, and generally farm work. |

NC Iowa | Make sure you drive one down the road a while at your normal speed, if they go 65 they cruise at 50 nice. Most get really loud and buzzy running at rev limiter. Have you looked at can am defender? would be another good option for you. I thought 45 mph would be sufficient, but I'm glad i can go 55-60if I need or want to. |

WC Ohio | 40mph is basically tops. There are a few cases where I wish I had more speed, but very few. I use mine just as you had mentioned. Going to the hog barns, hunting, crop scouting, and pleasure riding. As mentioned earlier, Honda does have the 1000-5 available, and they are the real deal. Just more $$. |

WCOH | I bought the first 3 seater 1000 Prengers got in not quite a year ago. About 1250 miles now, no problems and very happy with it. If you want to go 40 without it screaming you might want the 1000. |

north-central Indiana west of Fulton | The Honda 700 does not have a "turf mode" so it will scrub or tear up grass or gravel as you turn . The Polaris and the pioneer 1000 have the turf mode switched. Something to be aware of. I think that is a big negative on any utv. |

S.C. Wisconsin | I have to question why the engines got dusted? Was the air cleaner cleaned with compressed air? Those air cleaners are not made to be cleaned with compressed air. Honda's are like Toyota's (and I have Toyota's) but they are not exciting but very reliable. A machine that has a top speed of 40 mph obviously isn't overpowered. The more power these machines have the more stress is put on the machine. You have to choose for the your own purpose. I am a trail rider and Honda's have fell off the cliff as they don't have near appeal for their lack of get up and go as their competitors. Just saying. |

Nc Ks. | Will gator 825 cruise at 40mph or do they sound like they are wound to the limit. |

S.C. Wisconsin | Probably a nice machine but my old 800 RZR would do better than and the old 800 doesn't hold a candle to my new XP1000. Then we won't get into the suspension. I road a lot of side by sides and have not found a suspension that compares to the Polaris suspension. The Honda 1000 has transmission problems. The Yamaha 1000 has been plagued with a lot problems. Just like high performance cars, they usually require more upkeep. |

WCOH | I don't care what a rzr will do, it's geared to go fast. In case you haven't noticed, the Pioneer has a bed, it is a work machine which competes with a ranger, not rzr. Why didn't you mention all the posts on here from those having issues with Polaris that are 6 months old or less? |
